Season 2 – it’s a doozy!
Life is complicated―or at least, it is for Aisling Bea’s Áine in the hit Hulu/Channel 4 series, This Way Up. The show, about an Irish-Catholic woman living in London and trying to get her life together, is co-produced by Bea and Merman Television. Founded in 2014, Merman Television has been committed to bringing the best in television, film, advertising, and premium short-form content. Along with This Way Up, Merman has helmed other series such as Shining Vale (Starz), Dirty(Amazon), and Delilah (HBO Max).
Luckily, things weren’t so complicated for us at Atlantic: we worked directly with Merman within strict CBS/Viacom safe shooting procedures for This Way Up amidst the pandemic. Under those COVID protocols, we shot all NYC-based content and pick-ups for the series’ second season. Our location scout and manager secured the scenery the show called for while our local crew—a field producer, director of photography, camera assistant, gaffer, props & glam teams–kept the visual consistency of the show even though it was filmed across the pond. And for those camera aficionados out there, we captured all footage on the Arri Alexa.
With a team like ours, there’s definitely nowhere to go but up.
