Ever since Sarah Koenig’s Serial podcast sent shockwaves over the internet almost a decade ago, True Crime as a genre was taken to a whole new level. In the intervening time, shows like Only Murders in the Building have parodied the phenomenon, and even more documentaries and specials have caught onto the trend. One such special is the three-part documentary Lost Women of Highway 20. Produced by UK-based October Films, Lost Women delves into the case of a missing 13 year-old girl back in 1990s Oregon, and its connection to another missing persons case in 1978.
Serving as an extension of October’s offices, Atlantic provided local production support in Portland, including crew over two separate legs of the project, all in all taking place over the course of two weeks.
